Guided Tour for People with Disabilities Through the Botanical Garden of the Moscow State University - ”Aptekarsky Ogorod”
On the April 27th, 2017 Messe Düsseldorf Moscow Ltd. supported by Ottobock organizes a guided tour for disabled through the Botanical Garden of the Moscow State University – “Aptekarsky Ogorod” (engl. - the apothecaries’ garden). During this event, guests will be shown the historical Palm House with orchids, carnivorous plants, vines, palms, as well as the new Victorian orangery with unique pool with gigantic water lilies and lotuses, also a glasshouse with one of Russia's largest collections of cactuses and other succulents.
Alexey Reteyum, Director of the Botanical Garden of the Moscow State University – “Aptekarsky Ogorod”, will tour the guests through glasshouses and through the Spring Flower Festival. He will also inform visitors about the garden facilities in terms of accessibility. Further more, participants of the guided tour will visit Russia's first gerbera exhibition, timed to the 280th anniversary of the first description of the Gerbera genus. After the event, guests will be invited to a welcome dinner, where the new concept for the “Integration'17 Moscow” Trade Fair will be presented.

Among special invited guests of the guided tour are representatives of the following organizations: the All-Russia Association of the Disabled, the All-Russia Association of the Blind and the All-Russia Association of the Hearing Impaired, RZ Preodoleniye, ROOI Perspektiva, Zhisn bez granits; paralympic sportsmen and prominent public officials on disability issues.

Historical Background of the Botanical Garden of the Moscow State University - “Aptekarsky Ogorod”:
Founded by Peter the Great in 1706, the Botanical Garden of the MSU - ”Aptekarsky Ogorod” is a historical and cultural monument of Moscow. It is Russia's oldest botanical garden as well as the most well-kept, photogenic, conveniently located and accessible garden of the capital.
The garden's glasshouse complex (Palm House, Succulent Orangery, Victorian Orangery, Seedling Orangery and Subtropical Orangery) is one of the most visited and one of the five most photographed places in Moscow.
The garden is fully accessible for people with disabilities: accessible, equipped with special ramps in glasshouses and restaurants and with an elevator to the 1st floor, where a fully equipped WC for the disabled is located.
From 15.04 to 1.06.2017 the 17th Spring Flower Festival is held in the Botanical Garden of the MSU -“Aptekarsky Ogorod”. This is the most colorful, enchanting and beautiful event in spring Moscow.
The guided tour through the “Aptekarsky Ogorod” will be lead by the Director of the Garden, Mr. Alexey Peteyum. Over the past few years, the garden has changed mostly due to his efforts.
Thanks to the active socially oriented life position of the garden's director, “Aptekarsky Ogorod” takes first places at national and international competitions.
The garden's Instagram has over 190 thousand followers, and all federal media cover the events announced by the garden's administration.
Information About the “Integration'17 Moscow” Trade Fair
The leading international exhibition for rehabilitation equipment and technology – “Integration`17 Moscow” - will be held from June 14th to 16th, 2017 at the Expocenter Fairgrounds in Moscow. The exhibition is organized by Messe Düsseldorf Moscow Ltd. in partnership with Leipziger Messe International GmbH supported by two world's leading international trade fairs REHACARE (Duesseldorf) and OTWorld (Leipzig) as well as social organizations: All-Russia Association of the Disabled, All-Russia Association of the Blind & All-Russia Association of the Hearing Impaired, RZ Preodoleniye, ROOI Perspektiva, Zhisn bez granits.
